about

adama was originally written for "blind hammer" (things-falling-apart.bandcamp.com/album/blind-hammer-i-miss-you-like-nails)
but was dropped about half way through the sessions along with everything that ended up on the "hex debts" ep (things-falling-apart.bandcamp.com/album/hex-debts) when we decided to not do a double album.
after the record came out we completely overhauled the song and started playing it live. its almost unrecognizable compared to the original "blind hammer" demo.
a few attempts to record it were made and we settled on the version we did with carl (r.i.p) in the big fancy STUDIO A at WNIJ in dekalb illinois (its an alternate take recorded during a radio session that you can watch/listen to here: www.northernpublicradio.org/post/sessions-studio-things-falling-apart )
carl sent us the multi-tracks, a bunch of overdubs were done at tims and then we put the thing to bed...

salomé can be looked at as both a stand-alone track or a super-long, extended outro to adama.
at its core are a number of chunks from the intro section from one of the unfinished versions of adama that were hacked-up/slowed down/layered/reversed/ran through pedals and stretched forming the skeleton to salomé.
we then spent a few sessions at tims overdubbing guitars/drums/basses/loops/organs until we felt like it was a thing in itself.

download bonus track:
adama (bell & circuit remix) was done by our friend russell under his 'bell and circuit' moniker (bellandcircuit.bandcamp.com) during the spring lockdown. he made us sound a lot cooler than we really are and we thank him for that.
we also look forward to being able to play shows again with his band daughtersofsaintcrispin.bandcamp.com/music

about

things falling apart De Kalb, Illinois

the sound of old tube amps humming like angels, buzzing helicopter tremolo dancing with rickety strings, drifting analog delay, and antiquated brass bursts of joy.
